It’s that time of year again to head out to our Long Island local areas to celebrate the 4th of July. Below is a list of some of Long Island’s celebrations.  Call ahead of time to make sure of the times and the celebration activities .
Brookhaven – Bald Hill, 5 South Bicycle Path. Call 732-4011
July 4th Celebration at Palmer Vineyards from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.  Live music and some Palmer Vineyards wine. Enjoy a FREE holiday hot dog with the purchase of a glass of wine. Palmer Vineyards, Aquebogue, NY. (631) 722-9463.
Peconic Riverfront, located behind Main Street in Riverhead. Enjoy free music and more.
Grucci Fireworks display at the Brookhaven – Bald Hill, 5 Bicycle Path (just off Country Road 83) in Farmingville, NY.  Call (631) 732-4011.
E. Islip Fire Dept – Connetquot Ave…Call 631-383-2464
Bring a blanket or chair to the annual Umbrella Beach in Montauk , on Old Montauk Highway, just west of the town. Look up and you’ll be treated to a fireworks display by Grucci from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. It’s a good idea to get there early. Call (631) 668-2428.
Jones Beach Fireworks Extravaganza – CANCELLED THIS YEAR
This year’s annual Jones Beach Fireworks Extravaganza has been cancelled due to New York State budget cuts.

FREE day-long events at Sagamore Hill, once famed as Theodore Roosevelt’s “Summer White House” in Oyster Bay LI.  Celebrate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by watching a Rough Riders reenactment on horseback riding and more for FREE. From 2 to 4 p.m. Bring blankets or lawn chairs and call (516) 922-4788.
Vanderfest at the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium. From noon to 5 p.m., there will be live entertainment, vendors, food, hayrides, face painting, arts & crafts and much more. Admission: $7/adults, $6/adults 62 and over, $3/children 12 and under.
