Here’s a North Shore Nassau County Code-Gated Co-operative community that you may not know about.
It’s The Knolls of Glen Head New York in Zip Code 11545. You can reach The Knolls by taking The Long Island Expressway to Exit 39 N, Glen Cove Road. Approximately 4 Miles (Past 25 A) turn left to The Knolls Gate. This is a non-age restricted Co-op community and is served by the North Shore School District #1.
Opened in 1987, The Knolls @ Glen Head is surrounded by street names of The Glen and The Circle. At The Knolls you will find a variety type of residences, all attached. There are upper and lower floor plans, and 2 Story Townhouse units. They feature central air conditioning and gas heat. Some units have a 1 or 2 car garage. Although this is a Co-op, there is no Board approval needed. There is a monthly maintenance fee that takes care of the common grounds, and also taxes are included.  No pets permitted here, and there are no amenities.

Opened in the late 1980’s with semi-attached units, and again in 2000 with free-standing (detached) homes, Leisure Glen is a 24 hour Guard-Gated Active 55+ community. This neighborhood can be reached by The Long Island Expressway Exit #68N William Floyd Parkway to Whiskey Road and a right on Randall.

There are many amenities at Leisure Glen in Ridge NY. There’s the beautiful 15,000 sq ft clubhouse, the Olympic size outdoor pool with hot tub, tennis courts, bocci, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and the mile long Paseo Path. Inside the clubhouse there are social events, the large auditorium, greenery room, many clubs, gym, library, music room, card room, sewing room, billiard room, pottery, and photography club.

The Greens in Melville can be reached by The Long Island Expressway Exit 50 or The Northern State Parkway Exit 40S, near Route 110. You enter The Greens by the 2 security gates that monitor those who enter and exit the community, providing a secure environment for the residents. The main gatehouse is on Old South Path Road.

 

Opened in 2003, when available, The Greens has a variety of Floor Plans combining Condos, Townhouses and Villas within the setting of a private Country Club. Positioned on approximately 400 rolling acres, The Greens At Half Hollow offers security, amenities and privacy within a carefree lifestyle community.

 

The Villas at The Greens in Melville are at the higher price structures for the community and are the largest. They consist of semi-attached homes, both 2 story designs and ranch floor plans, with 2 or 3 bedrooms. All the Villas have 2 car garages, some have basements, and some have golf course views. 

 

The Townhouses are 4-attached homes grouped together in a quad.
