Built in 1978 on Long Island’s famed North Shore, reaching The Greens from The Long Island Expressway Exit 35 is easy. Built in the late 1970’s, Acorn Ponds can be navigated to by The Long Island Expressway Exit 35 and head South.  The street names in this neighborhood are Acorn Ponds Drive, Spring Hollow, Frost Pond, Squirrel Hill, Chestnut Hill, Pheasant Run, Old Field, and Fox Ridge.  There are various models within this community that include 3 bedrooms with 2.5 baths, 2 bedrooms 2 baths, and 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths.  Acorn Ponds is close to The Long Island Expressway, The Northern State Parkway and plenty of shopping.

This is not a gated neighborhood, but there is roving security in the evening. There is a monthly common charge fee which includes Condo maintenance. This covers repairs and maintenance for the common areas, such as roofs, masonry, and sprinkler maintenance.  Residents are responsible for all interior repairs, such as plumbing and electric. There 3 sections known as Condo 1, 2 and 3. Each condominium sets its own budget based on routine maintenance costs, utilities, special projects and capital funds.  Condos I and III both have on-site maintenance staffs, and Condo II outsources its site maintenance. Acorn Ponds residences have central air conditioning, electric heat, patios, and lower level garage space.

Acorn Ponds has a clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis, gym, and play area.  During the evening hours there is night security. Opened in 1988, Indian Head Forest, is situated within the Commack School District #10. At this neighborhood there are 2 bedrooms, 3 bedrooms and some 4 bedroom units. There are no ranch floor plans at Indian Head Forest.
