The Greens in Melville Long Island is an active 55 and over golf community in Suffolk County, on Long Island’s North Shore.You can reach The Greens by the Long Island Expressway Exit 50 or the Northern State Parkway Exit 41.  Opened in 2003, The Greens in Melville is a gated community featuring 24 hour security. The Greens at Half Hollow monitors those who enter and exit the community providing a secure environment for the residents.  

 

 

There is a variety of housing styles at The Greens in Melville. The Villas are semi-attached homes with three designs including a ranch, a 2 story with master on the main level, and a colonial with all bedrooms on the upper floor. Each of these Villas has a 2 car garage, some may have a basement, and some have golf views. These Villas are at the higher end of the pricing structure at The Greens. 

 

 

The next group is the Townhouses. These are 4 attached townhouses grouped together.  The interior units have a 1 car garage, and the two end units have a 2 car garage. The master bedroom is on the main level, and some of these townhouses may have a basement and some may have an elevator up to the loft area. 

 

 

The most affordable units at The Greens are the condos. These are all attached units with 2 cozy floor plans either on the upper or ground level. They do not have any garage space, but there is ample parking in front of the condo.

You can reach this community from The Long Island Expressway Exit 49 South to Old Walt Whitman Road and to the Entry Gate.  A monthly common charge fee includes lawn care and snow removal.

The Villas at Melville is a Townhouse community with a 24 hour attended gatehouse on the same road as Northgate. Located on Old Walt Whitman Road near the business and shopping district of Route 110 and Exit 49S by The Long Island Expressway. Built in 1986, there is a clubhouse, outdoor pool, tennis courts, and play area. All are attached Townhouses with a garage and full basement. 

The Coves is a 62 and over active adult condo community located in Melville Long Island. Built in 2004, this 62+ active senior condo can be reached by Exit 49S by The Long Island Expressway and a little distance past The Villas and a right on Park Ave. It offers clubhouse, pool, gym and social activities. You can reach this North Shore community of Nathan Hale Co-operatives by Route 25A to Nathan Hale Drive.
